Windy Summer Day

I apologize in advance if any of this post doesn’t make sense. I was up late coding the first page for my employer’s new website: Food Waste Recyclers. Doing some web development work was a nice change from building links for trash dumpster rentals.

Then this morning I happened to wake up early knowing there was likely some great Olympics action on tv. Luckily it was just in time for the start to the Mexico vs Brazil men’s soccer final. I’m not familiar with how the Olympics qualifying works for soccer, but I’m pretty surprised how many powerhouse teams weren’t in the later stages…Spain, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Portugal, etc.

Well I really want to watch this soccer game. So let’s keep this brief.

Remember to enter my giveaway this weekend!

I’m posting today since so many of you are extremely kind linking to my humble blog. Having more than 50 links on a page is generally bad practice since it limits the benefits that get spread to each of those links. I want to keep these posts as beneficial as possible to everyone included.

    • The only reason I have cable is for sports. So now is one of those times when I have to take advantage…even if it is just in the background while I try to get work done.

    • Sorry to hear that your Saturday is going to get rainy. It’s nice sunny weather here today. So I intend to get out and enjoy it after I finish up some more work.

    • I guess that gives you a good excuse to catch some of the final Olympics action. I’ve got a handball game on in the background and it looks like a very competitive game.

  1. Thanks for the inclusion! The Olympic soccer tournament is either U-23 or U-21, I can’t remember which. Each team is allowed 3 ‘overage’ players, so that’s why some of the traditional powerhouses aren’t in the final! We saw some pretty happy Mexicans on our morning trip through downtown!

  2. Hey thanks for including a link to my post. I appreciate it!

Hope you are having a great weekend. We are in a heated counteroffer to the counteroffer to the counteroffer to the counteroffer (etc.) as we are trying to buy a house…..the sad thing is the whole deal might fall through over less than a couple thousand dollars.

    • That would be frustrating to spend all that time negotiating only to come to such a small roadblock. I’m sure the realtors will figure out something to make it work. Personally I’d probably just cave and spend the extra money to secure a home I want.

    • lol…I don’t actually have to think about those topics when doing most of my work. A lot of it is more technical work that is that same for any website. I’ve marketed all kinds of niches without really learning a whole lot about them.

I did get outside to enjoy the weather, but now my chest and back is a bit sun-burned.

  3. You should be like me and build a patio ;)

Also, I heard the age cutoff for soccer is what’s killing most of the major players. It’s like 24 or something super low, so the best atheletes aren’t there. Kinda dumb in my opinion.

Thanks for the link, much appreciated. Have a great weekend!

    • I think building a patio in my rental apartment might be a bit tough lol.

I agree that it’s pretty dumb that they have age limits for some Olympic sports. They claim it is about finding out who is the best in the world, yet the restriction sure prevent that. How can someone say they are the best in the world when they have age limits or in the case of boxing, restrictions about professional athletes.

    • I had no idea they were ever held in the same year. That would be a pretty dumb setup. Between the Olympics, world cup, euro cup and all the pro sports playoffs, all the sports action is nice and spread out.

  4. Thanks for the mention! We’re pretty lame on the weekends. We always seem to have something to do, and if we do have a free moment we’re not sure how to use the time (because it’s so rare). We did go to a movie this Saturday, but the rest of the day was filled getting the house ready for a showing, being gone for the showing, and then a birthday party.

We need to get a life. :)

    • No worries Jason. Sometimes people just get busy with other priorities. I practically had to force myself from being such a workaholic and get busier with fun stuff on the weekends. Even then I always try to fit in some work pretty much every single day.

  5. Thanks so much for the mention! It means a lot! The thanking works both ways since we’re driving traffic to each others sites. With all the carnivals, tweets, link loves and blog mentions, its an awesome team effort!
On sunny days, I like to go for a bike ride or people watch on the patio with a nice cold beverage.

    • For sure, bloggers can help each other out a lot. Stuff like that really shows how important networking is for marketing a blog. I just wish I had more time to really repay everyone for their support.

Mmmm a nice cold beverage on a patio is awesome. I’ll have to do some of that this weekend.
