I apologize in advance if any of this post doesn’t make sense. I was up late coding the first page for my employer’s new website: Food Waste Recyclers. Doing some web development work was a nice change from building links for trash dumpster rentals.
Then this morning I happened to wake up early knowing there was likely some great Olympics action on tv. Luckily it was just in time for the start to the Mexico vs Brazil men’s soccer final. I’m not familiar with how the Olympics qualifying works for soccer, but I’m pretty surprised how many powerhouse teams weren’t in the later stages…Spain, Argentina, Germany, Italy, Portugal, etc.
Well I really want to watch this soccer game. So let’s keep this brief.

And for a random question to give you something to comment about…what do you like to do on a nice sunny weekend? Since I did so much work yesterday I should have some time to enjoy myself today and tomorrow.
Also if anyone could share my giveaway post today it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

It seems like you are enjoying Olympics games! Unfortunately, games will be over this weekend. I don’t have cable, but I watch some highlights on Roku. Thanks for the mention, Jeremy!

The only reason I have cable is for sports. So now is one of those times when I have to take advantage…even if it is just in the background while I try to get work done.
Hope you have a good weekend!
The Olympics flew by quickly – just like Bolt.

Yeah it seems like as soon as I started to really get into it, it was almost over. It has been quite entertaining though.
Thanks for giving me some great reads for my soon to be rainy Saturday.

Sorry to hear that your Saturday is going to get rainy. It’s nice sunny weather here today. So I intend to get out and enjoy it after I finish up some more work.
Thanks for including me Jeremy. On the weekends I love to get outside and enjoy the weather
No problem Sean. Yeah it sounds like you go pretty hardcore with the biking. Maybe I’ll go for a quick rollerblade this afternoon.
I’d like to have a nice sunny weekend but as you said you sent us your rain. So instead I’ll just hang out inside and try to find something to do I guess… blogging sounds like something that will get done.

I guess that gives you a good excuse to catch some of the final Olympics action. I’ve got a handball game on in the background and it looks like a very competitive game.
I’m glad you liked my post! Thanks for including it.
No problem Emily. Enjoy your weekend.
Thanks for the great reads!
As for your question: I love sitting on the deck in my Adirondack chair drinking blueberry beer!
MoneySmartGuides recently posted..Money Saving Discounts
Blueberry beer?! How come nobody told me about this?!? I’ve been trying some fruit flavored beers lately and they’re pretty awesome. Apricot and watermelon are both pretty damn good. I’m going to have to watch for blueberry though.
Blueberry beer is amazing. I’d get on that.
Thanks so much for the mention and hope you enjoyed the game!!

I’ve seen the ‘buffalo bills’ blueberry beer in our store sometimes. Good to hear it’s actually good!
Brian recently posted..Updates: August 5 – 11
I need to start going to a better liquor store. The one close by has shitty selection. Guaranteed they wouldn’t have the blueberry beer. I’m totally going to have to try to find it though.
Thanks for the inclusion! The Olympic soccer tournament is either U-23 or U-21, I can’t remember which. Each team is allowed 3 ‘overage’ players, so that’s why some of the traditional powerhouses aren’t in the final! We saw some pretty happy Mexicans on our morning trip through downtown!
Brian recently posted..Updates: August 5 – 11
Its U-23 with 3 overagers allowed. Thanks for the link love Jeremy!
Earth and Money recently posted..Investing to Save the World
Funny that I had no idea about that rule. That makes a lot of sense then. A lot of the powerhouses do have a lot of older players. It is strange how they have that rule and yet basketball doesn’t. I’m glad Mexico won the game this morning. I’ve never been a fan of Brazilian sports teams. They’re a little too cocky for my tastes.
Hey thanks for including a link to my post. I appreciate it!
Hope you are having a great weekend. We are in a heated counteroffer to the counteroffer to the counteroffer to the counteroffer (etc.) as we are trying to buy a house…..the sad thing is the whole deal might fall through over less than a couple thousand dollars.

That would be frustrating to spend all that time negotiating only to come to such a small roadblock. I’m sure the realtors will figure out something to make it work. Personally I’d probably just cave and spend the extra money to secure a home I want.
Oh, we had a picnic in the park today. Beautiful weather here. I hope you get to be outside and don’t have to think about any sort of food waste or trash of any kind!
lol…I don’t actually have to think about those topics when doing most of my work. A lot of it is more technical work that is that same for any website. I’ve marketed all kinds of niches without really learning a whole lot about them.
I did get outside to enjoy the weather, but now my chest and back is a bit sun-burned.
Seems to make sense to me. Are you sure that my post on hiring an SEO consultant wasn’t your favorite? lol
Yes that might’ve been my actual favorite post, but I figured I should share something that is more appealing to other people.
Well, since Daisy put the SEO post on her roundup, it’s still getting the promotion it deserves.
That works for me. I generally avoid listing the same posts in both my list of favorite posts and my blog update mention acknowledgements.
You should be like me and build a patio
Also, I heard the age cutoff for soccer is what’s killing most of the major players. It’s like 24 or something super low, so the best atheletes aren’t there. Kinda dumb in my opinion.
Thanks for the link, much appreciated. Have a great weekend!
Jacob @ iheartbudgets recently posted..Budget Friday Submission 2
I think building a patio in my rental apartment might be a bit tough lol.
I agree that it’s pretty dumb that they have age limits for some Olympic sports. They claim it is about finding out who is the best in the world, yet the restriction sure prevent that. How can someone say they are the best in the world when they have age limits or in the case of boxing, restrictions about professional athletes.
Thanks again for the mention Jeremy! I love me some Olympics myself. I’m so glad that the winter and summer games are no longer held in the same year. You are probably too young to remember that:) Sochi is only about 18 months away!!!
Greg@ClubThrifty recently posted..I Need to Lose Weight
I had no idea they were ever held in the same year. That would be a pretty dumb setup. Between the Olympics, world cup, euro cup and all the pro sports playoffs, all the sports action is nice and spread out.
As always, thanks for the mention!

A nice sunny weekend…. Got to be a bike ride and a BBQ with some beer

Savvy Scot recently posted..I beat United Airlines
That sounds like a pretty awesome weekend day. I’ve been doing a lot of the BBQ & beer thing. I just gotta fit in a bit more exercise.
Thanks for the mention! We’re pretty lame on the weekends. We always seem to have something to do, and if we do have a free moment we’re not sure how to use the time (because it’s so rare). We did go to a movie this Saturday, but the rest of the day was filled getting the house ready for a showing, being gone for the showing, and then a birthday party.
We need to get a life.

No worries Jason. Sometimes people just get busy with other priorities. I practically had to force myself from being such a workaholic and get busier with fun stuff on the weekends. Even then I always try to fit in some work pretty much every single day.
Thanks so much for the mention! It means a lot! The thanking works both ways since we’re driving traffic to each others sites. With all the carnivals, tweets, link loves and blog mentions, its an awesome team effort!
On sunny days, I like to go for a bike ride or people watch on the patio with a nice cold beverage.
For sure, bloggers can help each other out a lot. Stuff like that really shows how important networking is for marketing a blog. I just wish I had more time to really repay everyone for their support.
Mmmm a nice cold beverage on a patio is awesome. I’ll have to do some of that this weekend.
Thanks for the mention. Sorry this is so late but I’ve been away from all the bloggy type things for a few days. I managed to land an awesome summer cold/sinus infection thing
Bummer. But I hope you had a great weekend
