As the year winds down I’ve been thinking back at how far this blog has come already.

It seems like just last week it had a 22M Alexa Ranking and no Google PR. Back then I only had visitors if I commented on other blogs. I was happy to get 20 visitors a day. Modest Money has come a long way.

So to give thanks to everyone who has helped build up this blog, I’m hosting (and co-hosting) a few giveaway contests this month. The first giveaway starts today and is exclusive to Modest Money.

This giveaway contest is for $500 cash and various blogger services.

Here is the full breakdown of the prizes:

1st Prize: $250 Cash
5 Consolation Cash Prizes: $50
Ouch‘ book by Paul Knott

Blogger Prizes:
2 Blog SEO Analysis Services (valued at $44.95 each)
2 Sidebar Links on ModestMoney.com active for 2 months
2 Guest Post Spots on ModestMoney.com linked from the Featured Post sidebar widget for 6 months

This contest runs from December 1st to December 29th 2012. If anyone without a blog wins one of the blogger prizes a new winner will be drawn. Cash prizes will be paid via paypal or Amazon gift card. Winners must respond within 24 hours of notification to claim prizes.

You are welcome to enter daily via the social sharing options.

Refer to the rafflecopter widget below to enter:

Good luck everyone!

    • I hadn’t won any contests either until last month when I won 2 different ones on savvyscot.com. One of them was for the book that I’m regifting in this giveaway lol.

    • Yeah your perspective sure changes a lot over the course of your blogging journey. I guess it’s just human nature to always want more. I wouldn’t have thought I’d be pushing for a 30k alexa rank at this point.

    • Good luck winning those SEO services Jacob. If you don’t win, shoot me an e-mail and I’ll hook you up with a discount. That will have to do before you ride in my future private jet lol.

    • I agree that actual prizes are often more satisfying since you might be too tight with your money to justify spending money on those things. Cash is unlikely to go towards any kind of splurge when you have other important financial goals.

    • Well if I shared all my secrets publicly they wouldn’t be secrets anymore. You can e-mail me about any of that stuff though. For PR I made it to PR4 on my first PR update, but it took a lot of link building work. As for traffic I’d have to check my analytics account.

    • Congrats on your progress if you’ve made it this far too. I know I put in a ton of work to get to this point. So I don’t feel too guilty about letting things coast a bit for now.

    • Thanks Joe. I hope I can manage to find some bloggers to win the blogger prizes, but other than that this contest should be successful. It better be for the price lol.

  1. Another day, and another contest. Well, I just don’t know what I am going to do with all the money & prizes that I plan to win. As it stands, I guess I will have to spend many sleepless nights trying to figure out this conumdrum. The opposite is true for the rest of you that you must stay up all night crying, because you did not win. Look on the good side, maybe I won’t enter the next contest, and therefore, this will give you a better chance to win. drmrs 12/18/2012

    • Now that’s some positive thinking or law of attraction strategies. Good luck in the contest although I guess you don’t need luck with that kind of confidence.

  2. Hello and Merry Christmas too all…. I am a single mother of two and i live in a domestic volence shelter, i have no money for gifts this year for my children and iam willing to put my pride aside and ask any and everyone for help this year. I do have a job but i work 2 to 3 hrs a day, 3 days out of the week and i dont make enough after rent to provide for my family at this time.. Please, i beg you.. If you can help in any way, with anything please contact me at afortner85@ymail.com. Thank you

    • I hope you can find a way to make it work Angela. I think most areas have some kind of help you can turn to, especially at this time of year. I’d think you’d still qualify for welfare. I do hope you’re not stretching the truth to take advantage of people’s sympathy.
