When you’re running a blot there is a lot to learn. If your blog is simply to share with family and friends, it’s easy enough. If you’re looking to make a real impact with your blog and possibly make some money, there’s a lot more to it.

To help fellow bloggers and those looking to create a blog, I’ve been writing this series about what I’ve learned about blogging and what I recommend doing. I’m not saying you have to follow my advice word for word, but there is bound to be some lessons you can take from it.

New Airline Miles Credit Card Blog Announcement

Airline Miles Credit Card Blog

For a while now I’ve had a second blog on the back-burner. Due to time restraints and partnership logistics, the blog sat untouched for far too long.

I keep trying to make online business partnerships work, but it is always much more difficult to manage than anticipated. Both sides usually have a lot of other responsibilities on their plates and splitting work evenly is nearly impossible. Then throw in the complications of wanting to invest some money into the business and that partnership really gets tested. So in the end my business partner and I decided that it was best to disband the partnership.

Now that the blog is completely mine to do as I wish, I figure it’s finally time to do an official launch. Even if I’m not posting much early on, it’s best to start building up the stats as soon as possible. It’s not doing any good just sitting there.

Due to popular demand I am going to try to keep this blogging tips series going. Time will tell if I can keep posting tips every week or whether every 2 weeks is best. It depends on how busy I am and how many more tips I can come up with.

It is pretty satisfying hearing how helpful this series has been for fellow bloggers. I already help a lot of people via e-mail, but by putting up permanent posts, hopefully this is able to help a lot more people.

Hopefully this series will continue helping fellow bloggers and those considering starting a blog.

Beginning of March 2013 Blog Update

Cat Lying Down

Well I didn’t get a chance to do a blog update last week due to the Canon Rebel T4i camera giveaway starting last Friday. Beyond that excuse I am thinking of how to restructure my posting schedule.

While a blog is bound to evolve over time, I admit I’ve let the vision of Modest Money slide over the past few months. As I got busy with my job and other priorities, I’ve been writing less and less. Lately it’s been all guest posts other than my blog updates. I even had a blogger tease me about how I don’t really write these days when I attended a local blogger meetup. Go ahead, call me a sellout. I deserve it.

So going forward I am going to make more of an effort to write more of my own content. I do have a ton of guest posts in the queue though. So I will continue to publish those and I will keep accepting new guest posts from other bloggers. I really should write at least one of my own posts each week…and no not just these rambling blog update posts. Continue reading
