Well normally I try to do these update posts towards the end of the week. Lately I’ve just been trying to figure out how much time I can commit to this blog and still maintain balance in other areas of my life. I’ll try to establish a more consistent posting schedule soon.
If you want to help out and get some exposure for your blog, I’d be happy to accept guest posts. I would definitely return the favor any way I can.
There’s nothing new to report on the job front. I should be meeting up with one of my previous employers sometime this week to discuss an opportunity though. Fortunately I’m having a good month for commission on my other websites. That does relieve some pressure to get a job right away.

For sure, the multiple income streams does help a lot during times like this. The only part that sucks is that I never get to qualify for the employment insurance benefits. It will be even nicer when those extra income streams are on top of a full time income.

lol at the beer spilling. I guess most bloggers have to face similar juggling acts. Unless you’re lucky enough to be making full-time money from a blog, you inevitably have to balance it with a job and also fit in time for a life.
Appreciate the mention. How is the slower schedule treating you? I did a similar thing last week since I was on vacation, set the posts up and let them go. I didn’t have much time to go back and track things or comment. Did you feel that you missed anything, or was it just a nice break?

No problem Karl. The slower schedule does give me more breathing room, but I found that after a few days I still ended up balancing that out with a lot of commenting on other blogs. We’ll see how I can manage that once I go back to a daytime job.

First time commenting! I’ve been enjoying these link round-ups lately, and I’ve already read most of these and loved them so great choices
It definitely is difficult to find a balance with blogging, working full-time, and having a life. I have been studying for the LSAT as well and sometimes I’m not sure how I do it. It’s all about balance! Towards the end of last year I was killing myself by just studying and working, but I made a commitment to myself that I would fit in everything I enjoy doing so that I don’t go crazy and get tons of breakdowns again. So even though I’m at work, I’ll make time to go to the gym at lunch, walk the dog after work, eat dinner with the BF, and study at night. I hope this helps motivate you find your balance, and sorry for the long comment!

Haha some of you hard working people really make me feel like a pansy for complaining about being overwhelmed with the work of managing a blog. I don’t know how people are able to run a blog while also working a full time job and studying. I guess I just have to make sure to find time in my schedule for whatever is a priority for me. I’m sure I can cut back on the less productive things in my life and still be happy.

It is a lot easier to be productive when everyone else is sleeping. I find my most productive time is right in the morning while it’s still relatively quiet.

I don’t think everyone shares those sentiments with the riots here after the Bruins beat the Canucks into the ice. In your case though I’ll overlook your poor taste in sports teams lol. I think this is the year to switch your allegiance over to NY. I think Boston’s brief sports dominance is coming to an end.

With the low prices of laptops you’d think they would just upgrade those. Some employers can be quite tight with their money though.

Good point about the 80/20 rule. I notice that some bloggers haven’t really learned that and focus mostly on their own blog. Then there are the ones that are already so well established that they no longer need to do much offsite work. Thanks for the advice Steve.
