End of October 2012 Blog Update

Is it the end of the week already?? This week has really flown by. Between work and my personal life, shit has been busy. Speaking of my job, here’s a totally irrelevant shout-out for anyone looking to sell annuities. Yeah ok that didn’t fit in so well, but hey I gotta do what I gotta do to help my marketing :)

I did manage to free up some time to get more active on twitter. So if anyone wants to help each other out on there, drop me a line. If I’ve been helping you on there, hopefully you can return the favor. With any luck I’ll be able to get back into blog commenting soon.

I’m likely going to start the social sharing acknowledgements back up soon. I don’t know if it affected the amount of tweets, but I like giving bloggers an extra thanks. Plus it helps me keep track of who to keep sending the love to.

On Monday I hope to finally post about my new phone, but no promises. I might get busy and end up posting more guest posts. I do still have lots of those in the queue that I’m trying to catch up on.

Also don’t forget to enter my latest giveaway for your chance to win some cool prizes. I kinda regret not just taking that prize for myself.

Is is just Vancouver or did we skip autumn this year? One day it was shorts weather and then it suddenly got damn cold. I’m freezing my ass off walking to and from the skytrain anyway. It might be time to bust out the winter jacket. How’s things where you are?

  1. We got part of your cold front yesterday. It’s about 40 degrees here and will get to a high of 50 over the weekend. Not freezing yet, but we’re certainly getting close.

On your job front: why would somebody sell their annuity and not simply cash it out to get the lump sum? It is an interesting concept and not sure how that works exactly.

    • To be honest I’m not quite sure how that all works yet either. I’m still learning about the industry. Perhaps some annuities do not have cash-out clauses with the issuer.

    • Yeah I normally enjoy the fall and the slow progression to colder weather. Weird how that just didn’t happen this year. And yeah the days do just run into each other. It seems like I never have time to get ahead on anything.

    • I actually don’t mind the weather here, but still like to complain like everyone else. The area of the US I would consider moving to is Washington state but being so close they get the same weather.

    • Yeah it was a bit of an inappropriate shout out lol, but I can’t pass up the chance to get an easy like for my employer.

The new job wasn’t too bad a transition, but at the same time I don’t want to burn myself out by trying to go all out while getting used to working full time again.

    • What are you doing using Fahrenheit for temperate Mr CBB? I thought they use Celsius is the UK. And glad to hear that it isn’t just Vancouver where the weather shifts so drastically. It makes it tough to figure out what to where when going out.

    • No I know most bloggers won’t accept free guest posts linking to commercial websites. It’s mostly more traditional commercial website marketing strategies, but I probably shouldn’t get into the details here.

    • I guess if you can see your breath, you’re allowed to turn on the heat. I can’t say I’ve had to turn on my heat yet, but my heater seems to randomly turn itself on even with the thermostat turned off.
