Well I’m going to keep the update portion of this post brief. Part of the reason is that there isn’t a whole lot to report. Mostly though, I’m just pretty drained after lying out in the sun earlier today. I even burnt my face a bit.
The biggest headway I made on stats lately is the number of people following on Twitter. With my goal of 500 followers by the end of the month, I got more aggressive on that front. As I write this post, I’m at 475 followers. So by the middle of the month I should be over 500. Perhaps I should aim for 600 for the end of May.
My Alexa Rank continues to drop and is just a bit over 60K. If I’m lucky I might manage to make it to 50K by the end of the month. I’d be extremely happy to get to that milestone after such a short time blogging. I’m still expecting that number to stop improving though. So even this low is good progress.
Again I want to thank all of you for all of your support with this blog. I know most of you lead very busy lives. So I really appreciate everyone taking the time to visit my blog, read my posts and share posts socially. Without you all, I’d just be writing a journal to myself and would’ve stopped writing a long time ago. You really give a lot of motivation to keep everything going.

So what does everyone have planned for their moms this coming Mother’s Day? I hope you’re all planning to spoil your mom in one way or another.

Thanks for the mention Jeremy. Hope you have a great weekend
No problem Sean. I’m sure your weekend won’t be as good as your trip to Chicago, but enjoy it nonetheless.
Thanks for the mention! I’ve really been starting to enjoy reading these posts, the links you post are great and have been directing me to some new (to me) blogs.
This mothers day I’m having a BBQ, hopefully the rain holds off.
What, you haven’t been enjoying my early blog updates?
I’m glad it has been helping you find some other quality blogs to check out.
Enjoy your BBQ this weekend!
Man, why are you lying out in the sun? Stop that! (and congrats on that Alexa score always dropping — I’ve finally gotten into the 700Ks, woot woot!)

lol! It’s just recently that I decided to take more time to myself to stay happy. Getting outside soaking up some vitamin D goes a long ways in maintaining mental well being. In the past I would be too focused on my online work to get out and enjoy stuff like that. Congrats on your alexa rank dropping too. I know that will be a tougher challenge in a much smaller niche.
Thanks for the mention Jeremy.
Great list of articles. Hope you have a great weekend.
No problem Eddie. You’ve been publishing a lot of great posts. So I’m always happy to share them. Enjoy your weekend too.
Thanks for the mention Jeremy. Hope your face doesn’t peel… lots of aloe (i love that stuff).
Jeremiah Brown recently posted..How To Make Money With A Blog
Anytime Jeremiah. No I don’t think the burn is that bad. I wasn’t out in the sun all that long. It should just turn into a tan.
Thanks Jeremy! As always, I retweeted this post
I enjoy your posts and your help with growing my blog too!
Hope you have a great weekend and spend some nice time with your mom for mother’s day. I will be sharing your mother’s day post on my weekly fave links on Sunday!
Put some aloe on your burnt face haha!

Thanks Erika! Unfortunately I won’t be spending the weekend with my mom since she doesn’t live near me. I probably should have tried to find someone to take care of my cats this weekend. Perhaps I’ll do that next weekend instead.
Dim sum for mom!

Mmm I love dim sum. I should take my mom for that next time she’s in town. She’s probably never had it.
I think you might catch Google soon, as quick as your Alexa has been dropping!

lol yeah at this pace I should be #1 by the end of the year. I bet they’re looking over their shoulders with worry haha.
Great job on the alexa ranking and tweeps surge! Everyone is just figuring out what I already knew–that you ROCK! Thanks for the mention. I hope you have a great weekend and have time to make your mom feel really special on Sunday!

Nice, got you both commenting today
Thanks Michelle. You’re too nice. I hope your weekend goes well too. You’ll probably have a great day with your kids.
Thanks for the inclusion my friend. Don’t get too burnt this weekend!
John | Married (with Debt) recently posted..Minimalism Addiction
No problem John. I’ll try not to, but I just came back from some rollerblading. So I can’t promise anything about not getting burnt lol.
It’s ridiculous how much your ranking has dropped. Well done man!
Thanks for including my post this week and I hope you have a great weekend.
We don’t have any plans. My wife works and my mom lives about 3-4 hours away. I’ll be giving her a call and chatting to her for a bit.
Jason recently posted..How to Retire Comfortably: Start With the End in Mind
You’re not far behind Jason. Your alexa is pretty impressive too. Congrats.
I’m in the same situation with my mom. She’s at least a 4-5 hour drive away. So she’ll have to settle for something delivered to her and a phone call.
Enjoy your weekend too.
Thanks for the shout out and man that’s a lot of progress for only having a blog for a short period of time. Way to go!
Thanks Jessica. Sorry to hear about the problems with the train ride down to Portland recently. Glad the rest of the trip went well.
Thanks for the mention Jeremy! Have a great weekend.
You’re welcome Paul. Hope you have a nice relaxing weekend.
Nice work on the stats! That’s a lot to accomplish before the end of May!
I think they’re all reasonable goals. If everything keeps up at its current pace, I should be able to reach those milestones.
Thank you for the mention, Jeremy!

You’re doing great with your Alexa scores!

mycanuckbuck recently posted..Blog round up for May 11th
Anytime MCB. Thanks for your help too.
What a fantastic weekend it ended up being. We had a pretty low key mothers day. It was nice and relaxing. My wife and I and the kids took a walk today!! Thanks for the mention. How was your mothers day with your mom?
Christopher @ This That and The MBA recently posted..When does padding become lying?
Well I’m super late replying to this. So I don’t remember how Mother’s Day was last year. I had to skim through the comments above to make sure that I didn’t spend Mother’s Day with my mom. Unfortunately since she lives several hours away it is tough to get together for all holidays.
