Again it was a pretty busy week around here. For the first time I actually had a post published every weekday. Sure a couple were guest posts, but hey, it’s a start. Just don’t expect that pace every week
Part of the reason for the extra posts was that I started to review financial software. On Tuesday I featured SpringCoin and their online debt relief software. They even helped out with an exclusive cash giveaway. Enter now if you haven’t already.
On Thursday, a guest writer started a weekly series about side hustles. Her first post of the series 3 Good Web Based Side Income Ideas For Smart Hustlers profiles some interesting ways for people to make money online.
Also just a reminder to vote for your favorite Canadian personal finance blogs. There have been over 500 votes so far, but it would be great to get even more votes.
Lately I’ve been seeing some good growth on Twitter. I was aiming for 600 twitter followers by the end of the month, but I might reach 700 by the end of the weekend. Yeah, I’m horrible at setting goals haha.
On the job front, I am meeting a potential client Thursday afternoon. It looks like a promising opportunity, but it would only be a temporary part time contract. Since someone else wants to hire me part time too, that might work out well. If those don’t pan out, another company might be ready for some marketing work in a couple weeks. If you’re looking for marketing help, be sure to contact me.
So things are looking up.

As usual, every Friday I like to give a shout out to some of my favorite bloggers. I’d love to include more of you, but I don’t want to overwhelm people any more than I already do. Plus some of you are just nicer to me. Being nice goes a long ways in my books.

What’s everyone got planned for the weekend? Anything exciting?

Thanks for the shout out Jeremy. Hope you have a great weekend
No problem Sean. Looks like my weekend is shaping up to be pretty good. Hope your weekend is awesome too.
Hey thanks for the mention! This weekend I’m heading to my old city – Halifax, to run a 10k and catch up with some friends. I haven’t been since February and I’m so excited, I miss my city!
Jordann recently posted..Would You Work Any Job?
Good luck Jordann! Sounds like you’ve got a pretty exciting weekend lined up. Hopefully lots of your old friends can make it out to cheer you on in the race and catch up.
Thanks for the mention – hope your meeting goes well!
John | Married (with Debt) recently posted..Cashless Society: Helpful or Harmful?
Thanks John. Yes it went well. We mostly saw eye to eye on where his website stands now and the direction he should be taking it. Now I just need to prepare a proposal of exactly what I should be doing and then he should be giving me a chance.
Good luck with your meeting!
Michelle recently posted..My Plumbing Mistake…
Thanks Michelle. I probably should’ve mentioned that by Thursday I actually meant yesterday, but I was writing the post yesterday morning.
Thanks for the mentions Jeremy and all the help this week! I hope your meeting goes well! No plans for me this weekend, just work, work, work. That said, if the weather is nice, it might become work, play, work.
Earth and Money recently posted..Planning a Green Frugal Wedding – Guests
No problem at all. Glad I was able to help. Yes be sure to mix some play into your weekend. Since it’s a long weekend here in Canada, you shouldn’t be stuck doing nothing but work. Even if the weather is just ok, find some time for something fun.
That’s great to hear about the job! Two part-time jobs = one full-time job in my book. Well, less the benefits probably.
Anyway, how are you getting so many twitter followers?
Jason @ WorkSaveLive recently posted..Asset Allocation & Diversification: Stocks, Bonds, or Cash
Well it depends on how many hours each of them is willing to pay me for. And yeah it would mean I wouldn’t get any kind of benefits. Still, one of them might develop into full time eventually.
Regarding twitter, I guess the twitter world just opened their eyes to how awesome I am lol. No I kid, except for the part about me being awesome
I’ve just gotten more aggressive with following a lot more people.
Good luck with your client!!! Even if it’s part time it’s a start… it will get your portfolio goin.. or make it even better since I bet you already have extensive experience. Best of luck and keep us posted.
You’re awesome at growth.. twitter, blog, etc. So glad to have you as my blogging mentor. Yep I’m calling you that. Literally grew this blog overnight with your stats/networking. Bravoooo! Plus we’re soooo similiar. Almost like twinsies. I appreciate all of your advice.
Anyway, didn’t mean to leave a long comment but thanks for the link up. Nothing exciting planned this weekend except sleep, video games, and cleaning… fun times. Have a good weekend!

Can I put ‘Erika’s Blogging Mentor’ on my resume? That would get me a job for sure!
Thank you for all the kind words though. You’re pretty awesome yourself. You know I’m always here if you ever need advice on anything.
Enjoy your weekend and kicked the bf’s ass in those video games
Exciting about the meeting with the client on Thursday! Best of luck! I’m joining twitter soon so you’ll have yet another follower.
Thanks so much for the mention!

Good to hear that you’re joining the twitter world. It’s definitely a must for anyone who is marketing a blog. I’ll be watching out for you and tweeting your posts soon. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions about twitter or anything else.
Sorry…just saw that you already met with him!
Glad it went well.
femmefrugality recently posted..Guest Post on Mom of the Year
No worries. I’m sure I miss stuff in other people’s comments sometimes. Yeah it went well, but I should get working on his proposal soon.
I’m always jealous of all your great ideas and progress. You’ve been doing great and I really did like the side hustle post series you’re starting. Looks like a great idea.
CultOfMoney recently posted..Golf lessons, deciding to get better at golf
Thanks Karl. I can’t take any credit for the side hustle series. That was all Missy’s idea. After writing a guest post a little while back she pitched the idea. I’m glad she did though. It should be a great series.
Thanks for the mention and good luck on the job front!

Good luck with your client, and I hope that the temporary part time contract works out. I’m keeping my fingers crossed. In fact, good luck with your work-related prospects in general, and keep us posted on what happens.

Of course, I’ll always keep you guys updated on it all, unless it doesn’t go well. Then I might not be as willing to share lol. I’ve been pretty open about it all so far though. Hopefully you don’t have to keep your fingers crossed too long. That’s bound to hold you back with your blogging work typing with 1 less finger
Guest posts or not, I don’t think we’ve had 1 week that jam-packed yet…and there’s two of us! Go you! This weekend, I’m having a much-needed GNO and then a b-day party for a friend. I’m ready for this relaxing, fun weekend to start!
Michelle recently posted..10 Fabulously Free and Family Friendly Things To Do In The Lou
Well technically there’s 3 of us this week
It took me a minute to figure out GNO. I guess that’s not a common part of my vocab lol. Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned though. Don’t have too much fun without Jeff!
Good luck on those jobs Jeremy, good things come to those who put themselves out there
I got my self a part time job late last year and now they’re working me 38 hours a week. They even offered me a permanent part-time job but I knocked them back. Said they would cut my hours if I didn’t and I told them I was working too many hours anyway. Still getting the hours at casual rates. Reckon they know a good worker when they see one.
Only thing is I don’t get as much time to my blog

Sire recently posted..The List Is All About YOUR Money
Yeah 38 hours per week isn’t very part time. The extra cash must be nice though. That’s too bad that they had to make threats to try to get you to take on a permanent role though. Hopefully you can still keep the blog going strong despite all those hours.
I make sure I update Wassupblog regularly, but the others I get to only when I have the time. I also don’t comment as often on other blogs but then I’m only one man after all

Congrats on getting potential job opportunities. I hope that everything goes well for you! I’m sure you’ll do great. The way this blog grows so rapidly you are obviously a great marketer! (Great blog too)
Thanks Katie! I dunno how great a marketer I am. The rapid growth has mostly come down to how generous all of you have been.
I’ve got some housework to get done, plus the final touches for my taco seasoning launch.
Good luck on the client!
Sweet. Nice to see that the taco seasoning project is getting close to launch. I was going to ask for a sample, but tacos aren’t much of a meal to cook for a single bachelor. I’d just have way too much leftovers. Good luck with the launch Edward!
Hey, I just found your blog for the first time. I love how you share with other bloggers. I also use Commentluv to share the love.
Anyway, it was interesting reading about your month. Good luck with your client.

Hi Chris. Welcome to my blog. Always good to see new visitors & new commenters. When I connect with so many great bloggers, it’s all too tempting to want to share their posts with my readers. They all make the blogging experience so much better.
Jeremy,
Thanks for the double shutout. I hope you enjoy the “24″ weekend and get some much needed R&R. Cheers!
Thanks Eddie. It has been a pretty good long weekend so far, but not much in the way of rest. I’ll catch up a bit on that tomorrow.
