I figured I’d be too busy messing around with my new phone this weekend. So I’m writing this post on Thursday evening. That means no update on how I’m liking the phone yet.
Tonight I’ll be doing my ancestors proud and attending an Oktoberfest celebration. I’m only part German, but my other background countries all love their beer too. So I’ll be drinking a bunch of beers in my ancestors’ honor. I’m sure some kind of sausages and sauerkraut will be on the menu too. Have any of you been to a traditional Oktoberfest celebration? I’d have to say this is my first.
I’m not really sure what else I’ll get up to this weekend. It might be time to get around to doing some shopping for some things that I’ve been putting off replacing. My falling apart coffee table is pretty high on that list. Knowing me I’ll still cheap out and do minimal shopping.

Now for anyone with some extra time this weekend, here are some great posts to check out. Ok I admit I didn’t read most of them since I’ve been so busy. I know I can trust these bloggers to put out great content though. So let’s just say these are some post titles that caught my eye. I won’t pretend that I actually read them all.

Thanks so much for the mention Jeremy! Hope you had a good time at the Oktoberfest celebration. I’ve never been to a real one. I have been to Germany twice and our family is German, so one year we’ll have to make it over there for the real deal. Have a great weekend!

Being at Oktoberfest in Germany would be pretty awesome. I’m going to settle for going to the local German restaurant this year. It sounds like it will be pretty fun. Well anything with a lot of beer has a lot of potential.
Thanks for the mention this week! I gotta give credit where it is due though, that was a guest post by Dom!

I don’t mind sharing some guest posts too. I know people share the guest posts on my blog each week.
Thanks for including my post. Enjoy Oktoberfest.

No worries Roger. I figured you needed some consolation with the sad start to the Packers’ season
Oktoberfest is always one of my favorite times of year. Good beer and good food. Hope you had fun. Thanks for the mention.

Oops, just realized that I said I was writing this on Thursday but said I was going to Oktoberfest tonight. I meant I’m going Saturday night. It should be a blast though.
Hope you have fun! Oktoberfest is a big thing around here, so I go every year. and I went last week. It was fun! Oh yeah, and I’m going tonight too

Wow it must be big if you’re going back to back weekends. There must be a decent sized German population where you live.
Thanks for the mention, looking forward to Oktoberfest!

No problem. Thanks for the Oktoberfest invite. I mean danke. Bring on the beer and bratwurst!
Thanks for the mention mate. Now that you are back at work what other items will you be looking to buy that you put off buying ? When I was in school I didn’t buy much either as I wanted to wait until I got a job. Now we’ve got some catching up to do. Cheers Mr.CBB

Besides a new coffee table and lamp I’m not really sure. Maybe some new clothes, shoes and random small things. Oh yeah and a new sheepskin rug that my cat uses to masturbate on lmao.
Oktoberfest reminds me of a town here in Georgia. Helen is a gorgeous little town in the foothills of northeast Georgia mountains. This town has a look of a German town. October is the month to visit this town.

Cool…that would be a fun town to be in during October. I’m sure the population there explodes during that month.
Thanks for including my article!
Oktoberfest is always a good time…hummm, what beer should I have tonight?
Cheers,

No problem Mark. I say have some good German beer
Hey Jeremy, I’m glad my post and the opinions of other PF bloggers “caught your eye”
hehehe. Let us know how the phone is working out for ya. I’ve been tormented over the last week thinking about getting a phone for myself, but … must … resist … the … temptation!
Veronica recently posted..LinkLuv Friday, Crimson Skies
It’s too bad I was too busy to contribute to that post Veronica. I have to say it was a pretty good idea. And I know all about resisting the temptation of a smart phone. I’m sure you’ll give in once you’re not in a single income household.
I’m assuming you got the new iPhone. It’s AWESOME. Best purchase I’ve made. Extremely satisfied. Interested to see your thoughts..

You don’t know me very well then. That and you must’ve missed my post on Monday. There’s no way I would waste my money or my boss’s money on an Apple cell phone.
I have never been to an Oktoberfest, but it sounds like fun. Thanks for the mention. Did you wear lederhosen?
Kim@EyesontheDollar recently posted..A Valedictorian’s Advice On How to Raise a Scholarship Kid
lol no I don’t own any lederhosen. I’d have to be pretty hardcore to own a pair. I’d be pretty embarrassed wearing that on the bus too.
Thanks for the mention MM. And yes – I went to the University of Waterloo, so I hit Oktoberfest every year. I never need to hear polka again in my life!

Cat recently posted..How does an increase on interest rates affect your savings?
I’d think college would be the best time to celebrate Oktoberfest. I definitely don’t drink as much beer these days as I did back then. Then again I’d probably be more intolerant of polka music in my college days.
Thanks for the mention Jeremy. Glad to be on the list even though you might not of read it haha. Hope your new job is still going good for you. Have fun learning your new phone also, took me forever to learn mine.
At least I’m honest lol. I think I’ll be able to figure out my new phone easy enough. There was a delay in getting it though. So I don’t get it until tomorrow.
Oktoberfest is always a lot of fun. I have already been 2 times there and I always enjoyed it so much. Thanks for sharing so much blogs in on post.

Unfortunately things didn’t work out and I didn’t make it to Oktoberfest, but based on the comments here I’ll have to try to make it next time.
Eager to hear how the phone is going down… Thanks for the shout out!

You’ll have to wait a bit since I still don’t have it
Some delays happened which were totally out of my control. That delayed gratification will just have to wait a bit longer.
Ahh man! That sucks.. What data plan did you decide on in the end?
Savvy Scot recently posted..10 Tax Tips for Contractors & Freelancers
I didn’t have to decide on that. I just let my boss choose the same one he’s on with everything included. If I go over on the limits, it’s not even my problem
I hope you enjoyed your celebration! We’ve never been to a traditional Oktoberfest thing but we’ve talked about it. Actually, we were thinking about doing it this year but changed our minds as we’re headed up to Minneapolis this weekend.
Thanks again for the mention and I hope the new phone is as fun as you imagined it would be!
Jason @ WorkSaveLive recently posted..When Is the Right Time to Have a Baby, Financially?
Well I’ve had some bad luck lately and will have to wait on both Oktoberfest and my new phone. Luckily I should only have to wait until tomorrow for the phone. For Oktoberfest I’ll probably have to wait until next year though.
I was going to wish you an awesome weekend but I see Oktoberfest is off the books… I’m sure the new phone will still keep you plenty entertained though!
Renée (@nickelbynickel) recently posted..What not to pack when travelling abroad.
The new phone is pretty sweet now that I finally have it. I was worried about typing on it, but with the Swype app, it’s actually pretty easy. As I get more used to it, it will just get easier. Hopefully I’ll be comfortable enough to start responding to comments and replying to e-mails with it.
Thanks for the list, i missed most of them, lucky i can get to them later after all my works done. Good share.
No problem Mike. I’m happy to share these posts, especially since it really benefits me too. Plus it helps out bloggers that have been supportive to me.
