Blog Advertising Tricks

Check out my new guide for starting a blog to learn how to go about properly creating your own blog.

So last week I discussed how some bloggers aren’t being completely honest when accepting blog advertising. I was a bit worried about negative reaction to that post, but I think there were only a couple people who weren’t in agreement. Hopefully those people didn’t think I was specifically talking about them. That was not the intention. I know some of my blogger friends use some of those tactics.

Really some of those strategies aren’t even all that bad, but it’s a little different than what advertisers would naturally expect. Think of whether you’d use tactics like that with any other kind of business transaction or personal sale.

Anyways, that was just my opinion as an advertiser myself. You’re free to do whatever you want with your blog, but beware of potential causes and be honest with yourself.

In March of 2012 I started a new experiment, getting around without a car in the suburbs.

There were limited parking spaces at my workplace, so to get me out of my spot, my work would pay for my public transit pass for as long as I worked there. This was just what got me to stop driving to work, but it was the catalyst for the decision to give up my car and for us to become a one-car family. Continue reading

Benefits of Quality Home Inspection Service

So we’re one step closer to owning our home! Today my girlfriend and I took half a day off work to be present for the home inspection service. I have to say it was extremely informative.

Thanks to having an amazing realtor, we were referred to a very thorough home inspector. On top of doing a very detailed job, it was also done at a very reasonable price.

If you are out shopping but on a budget, sticking to the set amount you have to spend can seem difficult and even overwhelming when our ‘buy now’ mentality is activated by phrases like, “Before it’s too late!”

Knowing is Half the Battle

Before you head out shopping, understanding your own finances and the bills or expenses you are required to pay each month will help you to create a spending budget regardless of what you are looking to buy. Planning your finances ahead of time and knowing when specific bills are due is highly recommended if you have difficulty staying away from impulse purchases or sales. In this instance, the cliché holds true: Knowledge is power. Continue reading
